Mahender Singh Dhoni Influence

In this week’s show, Tony Greig talks about the CB Series in Australia, and reckons that it would be an Australia-India clash for the title, the development of the Indian Premier League, and he wonders about the amount that the franchises would have offered to lap up a player like Garry Sobers

Dhoni is a true asset to the indian team and he has all the basics to lead the Indian team. He is a great keeper and a “solid” middle order batsman. He knows how to handle the pressure and how to bat according the situations. As said, Yuvraj needs to know his responsibilities and support Dhoni, who is backing Yuvraj despite his not-so-good batting form thru out the series. Lets wait and see what fate awaits the “new” Indian team in the years to follow under a new and energetic captain.

Dhoni posses excellent sportsmanship. Its a relief for Indian cricket board as we have been searching a consistent keeper batsmen for decades.I strongly feel that Dhoni has been given extra pressures and loads where he couldn play his natural game with extra power swing a typical Dhoni s game.Yuvaraj has to realise his responsibilities being a vice-captain for Indian team he should share lot of burdens from Indian ODI Captain. Its good to see that Dhoni has changed the Indian cricket in a different way handling young guns.

Indian Premier League : Deccan felled by Sehwag fireworks

What an explosive knock from Virender Sehwag. 94 off 41 balls, 10 fours, 6 sixes and he took a special liking to Symonds, pasting him for 30 in his last over. Delhi look the team to be, if I may say so, with a perfect blend of youth and experience. A top-class opening duo of McGrath and Asif proved too much, and Maharoof, Bhatia and Yo Mahesh kept it decent.

Indian Premier League : Chennal Vs Mumbai : Chennai wins against Mumbai in thriller

Indian Premier League : Chennal Vs Mumbai : Chennai wins against Mumbai in thriller

We can safely say this has been the game of the tournament so far. Hayden said at the interval that 208 would be a par score and Mumbai really ran them close. So Mumbai end on the losing side of another nail-biting contest. They looked to be trailing behind by a long way but spirited knocks from Nayar and Bhajji in the end got them close. Harbhajan fell at a crucial juncture and eventually Mumbai fell short by 6 runs. It’s never easy batting under such pressure in the bull-ring like atmosphere at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The crowd were as sportive as ever and never went quiet at any stage, even when Harbhajan and Nayar were clobbering it around.

Indian Premier League : Deccan failed to stop Sehwag’s fireworks

Indian Premier League : Sehwag Vs Symonds, 30 Runs in 1 Over

12.6 Symonds to Sehwag, SIX!!, the best of them all! Launched 20 rows back over long on
12.5 Symonds to Sehwag, FOUR!!, on middle and leg, belted through the mid wicket region
12.4 Symonds to Sehwag, SIX!!, Bang! Full delivery, clobbered over extra cover
12.3 Symonds to Sehwag, FOUR!!, oh, brilliant! Symonds digs it in short, Sehwag gets on top of the bounce by raising his front leg and whipping it away through long leg
12.2 Symonds to Sehwag, SIX!!, Flat six! Banged in short, the left leg makes way for a ferocious pull which crashes into the advertisement hoardings at deep square leg
12.1 Symonds to Sehwag, FOUR!!, pitched up on off, steps outside leg and clubs it powerfully through extra cover, shot!
